about.

A Native New Yorker to the core, Creative Director Elijah Brumfield has worked in a number of creative capacities. As the son of famed Senior Art Director, Julie Brumfield, Elijah was exposed to the arts very early on; writing his first commercial for Certs Mints, with Ad-Agency Young and Rubicam, at the early age of nine. While kids were in the park coloring with crayons, a young Elijah had designer magic markers and spray mount; the Young and Rubicam offices were his playground. “My mom took me to her job all the time. I remember her drawing storyboards, being on set, and then seeing her commercials on TV.”

After receiving Dean's List honors from St John's University, he got his start in A&R at EMI records. His first project working with a then unknown artist named D'angelo, helped provoke an industry-wide trend to the neo-soul style of music. While working alongside music veteran, Gary Harris and legendary engineer, Bob Powers, he developed a comprehensive understanding of music production, technologies and processes. After his time at EMI, he joined the A&R staff at Def Jam where he worked closely with distinguished music executives, Lyor Cohen and Russell Simmons.

While at Def Jam, Elijah cultivated the skills that would later land him the role of Assistant and Treatment Writer under the tutelage of elite Music Director Diane Martel. “being with Diane, was an adventure”. Elijah co-directed music videos for Mariah Carey, Method Man, Redman, Justin Timberlake,Christina Aguilera and others. Elijah honed his skills and clearly possessed considerable working knowledge of video production from start to finish. Diane and her protege later joined Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, Red Dragon, X-Men –The Last Stand) at Rat Productions where Elijah got the amazing opportunity to absorb many lessons in video production.

At Cornerstone Promotion, he worked with music veteran, Rob Stone, and helped facilitate artist like Jay-Z, Timbaland, and Missy Elliot with getting national radio airplay for their respective records. Elijah, along with Lee Harrison, helped build Cornerstone into a multi-faceted company comprised of event marketing, online marketing, radio promotion, brand consulting, and music supervision. During & after Cornerstone, he began a foray into publishing that would allow him to become influential in the launching of the highly respected music publication The Fader; a glossy music and lifestyle magazine, that’ been called "the definitive voice of emerging music and the lifestyle that surrounds it.” by New York Times.

Elijah has produced various projects from music to commercials for the likes of Bad Boy Mogul Sean Combs aka P-Diddy, Nokia, Colgate, and Sprite. He’s also served as lead consultant for many brands such as Microsoft, Adidas, Puma, Nike, NBA, Levi’s, Burton Converse, UnderArmour and New Era and he continues to  be a creative visionary behind new and established brands. Mr. Brumfield is not just a photographer but a creative force to be acknowledged here and into the future.
